William Hogarth (1697-1764) was an controversial yet popular English satirical engraver who used his biting humor to poke fun at religion, politics and society of his time. All prints are original antique steel engravings, printed between 1860 and 1880. Prints are in good condition with mild overall age toning. Some have foxing (age marks) and/or small croppings or uneven edges. Most of the age imperfections are outside the actual image area which won't show when matted/framed. Print images vary slightly but all are roughly 4.75 by 5.75 inches and actual sheet size is approximately 8.5 by 11.5 inches. They are stunning when matted/framed. |
